Depending on the type of hunting you do, you may need more than one Hunting knives. When hunting big game such as deer, I find a fixed-blade knife one of the best. The drop-point blade is great for skinning, and a sawlike edge on the spine of the knife is handy for separating bone. When hunting small game such as rabbits, squirrels and birds, I prefer a bone-handled pocket knife with a clip-point blade and a fowl hook that's helpful when gutting small game birds. It's lightweight for long walks in the field and sits nicely in one's pocket.A folding knife is basically a pocket knife that comes with a blade that, hence the name, folds inside of the handle of the knife. They are much smaller than fixed blade knives, and therefore can be simply carried around in your pocket, unlike the fixed blade, and therefore are much more convenience to use on the trail. At most, they get up to five inches long, although most of them are shorter than this.
